when my dog was a puppy we had a temporary plastic dish for him. and it was the smallest one we could find as he was a really small puppy. and he would pick it up and carry it around with him. and dump all the food and water out after he was done and take it to the living room to chew on it. and it was so hard to try to discipline him because he was so damn cute. we ended up getting heavy stainless steel bowls for him as the plastic one didnt last more than two weeks. so what is your funny puppy experience?

I had a German Shepard pup years back that when I went out one day and came back I couldn’t find her and looked EVERYWHERE! I later found her when I heard a whimper from the cabinet she had climbed into a 35lb bag of dog food and ate herself nearly to death! Her tummy was so bloated she looked like she was going to bust and was so full she couldn’t move! I rushed her to the vet and they had to give her an eneima and made
her throw up……. she wouldn’t eat that kind of dog food ever again!

is this good for her some say its ok, im not sure someone out here help me out ?

much like children dogs prefer junk food to what is good for them – do not spoil your dog. Feed it a quality dog food – although it contains sugar a cheerio is a great training treat!Used in moderation – but milk is bad for dogs.

Only 8 weeks old… :-D
He really puts a smile on my face every day,

My 2 month old pup doesn’t usually bark at people but she always barks at my friend. I don’t see why she does. I always thought it was because she was smelling something funny but then my pup would come to my friend bark then TRY to bite her. Why is my pup acting this way to my friend. Is there something wrong with her or does she just smell something weird? PLEASE TELL ME! I want my friend to know why me pup is supposedly mad at her!

your pup is not "mad". your pup is curious and playful. mouthing objects (including plants) is normal. that is how they learn about the world, much like babies put things in their mouths.

at this age i would attribute it to wanting to play and curiosity. what you must start to do is train the pup away from this behavior. when the pup approaches your friend and bites, say no bite. have them give the puppy a toy the pup likes. no tug of war, especially with a large breed puppy. you will have to be VERY consistent in this training approach.

biting and barking is normal for a puppy. also, if your puppy is 8 weeks now, did you get this puppy at 6-7 weeks, because, if so, the puppy probably did not have the sufficient time to learn bite inhibition so now, you have to teach that.

NEVER strike the puppy for doing this, the training must be fun and always positive.

try reading here, it may help you a lot.

best wishes on your puppy!

my dog just got spayed about a week ago. We have been putting the cone on at night and when we can’t keep an eye on her during the day so that she won’t rip the stiches. When i went to check on the progress of healing, i noticed that the stiches seemed really dry and almost crusty, if this just some glue they put to hold the skin together? is it normal for the stiches to become dry and flaky? is there anyway i can treat this?

this is my first dog so i am not sure what to do :)
thank you for all of your help!

Stiches should remain moist (not wet) while they are healing. That crusty stuff is typical and does not present any problems.
If however you wish to remove it. You can take a warm DAMP washcloth and hold it on the area for 5 minutes twice per day and it will moisten the area and the stuff will naturally slough off. No need to rub the area as you dont want to cause the stiches to break. But moisture applied will loosen it up.

I think its adorable. My new chihuahua Gizzy is on me right now and he went from attacking me with kisses and playing with my hair to being passed out on me!

LOL…I work at a doggie daycare, and there are thirty dogs running wild around the room, nonstop, complete pandemonium….and then you walk in at 11 and every last one is in a giant snuggle in the middle of the room. It’s so funny.
